Service Technical Trainer

Nidec Press & Automation/Minster is currently seeking a Service Technical Trainer to join our team. The Service Technical Trainer will deliver technical training to Nidec Press & Automation personnel who service and remanufacture Nidec products; conduct field audits to support identification of best practices and conformance to standard operating procedures. This includes giving training programs at Nidec Press & Automation locations.

Training Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical training for service technicians, service group personnel, remanufacture personnel and Nidec Press & Automation acquisition personnel. Present training programs to cover beginner, intermediate and advanced skill levels.
  • Create, maintain, and implement a schedule of technical training courses to support and enhance service technician competencies across NIDEC Press & Automation (New Product Training and Development; technician development for acquisitions, New Service Technician Onboarding, Best Practice Standardization, technical skill assessments, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain training materials, including technical assessments and work instructions
  • Work in conjunction with other Nidec Press & Automation training personnel to standardized best practices across the enterprise
  • Develop and implement a system of training to support effective use of service technician downtime
  • Maintain Training Records and track plans
  • Audit Service Technicians to drive best practices in field service procedures.
  • Develop and drive cross- group best practices for remanufacturing, service, and assembly
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to drive excellence in the service technician and remanufacture groups
  • Provide written and oral reports in English in an accurate and professional manner
  • Liaison with Engineering, Aftermarket Services, and Sales Teams to identify training needs for service technicians and remanufacture personnel.
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and processes related to Nidec Press and Automation products and services.
  • Create and implement training plans for service technicians
  • Update and maintain training materials, training hardware and other resources used for developing service technicians and remanufacture personnel.
  • Define and manage a documentation structure to facilitate the ease for service technicians in the identification and retrieval of key job task information.
  • Leverage data from service reports to identify training needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years in Nidec Minster Field Service
  • Strong Mechanical and Technical Skills
  • Prior experience in delivering training
  • Able to work effectively with minimum supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel
